IWC Pilots Watch Chronograph Boutique Edition

Excellent legibility, and a clear organized dial, coupled with meeting demanding conditions are all key features of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph. So it should not really be surprising that IWC has released a new Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Boutique Edition. Clearly this timepiece shares similarity with the classic aviation watches, but that inspiration has taken another step and has new features that make it stand out more than ever. A steel case that is constructed at 43mm in diameter and 15.3mm tall. A fairly standard size for these chronographs making it a nice fit on the wrist.

IWC Portugieser ‘150 Years’ Tourbillon Watch

Founded in 1868, IWC founder Florentine Ariosto Jones, worked tirelessly to develop a solid reputation of horologically superior watches. The brand from Schaffhausen, Switzerland will mark 150 year anniversary in 2018 and the latin motto, “Probus Scafusia” translates to “good craftmanship” is the heart of the brand. Celebrating the anniversary, the company is unveiling two tourbillon timepieces which will showcase the expertise the brand has about workmanship and complications.

SIHH-2016: IWC Big Pilot’s Heritage 48 & 55 Limited Edition

Through innovation and the pursuit of technical excellence WC Schaffhausen company has won international recognition. At SIHH Exhibition 2016 IWC introduced the manufacture watches related to the aviation theme. Among the new two models of IWC Big Pilot’s Heritage and 55 IWC Big Pilot’s Heritage 48. On the creation of these two models the designers were inspired by clock with 55-millimeter case IWC Big Pilot’s, which is a manufactory released in 1940 by a military request. A few years ago at SIHH Exhibition IWC company also introduced a collection of Pilot watches as a major aesthetic theme of the year. Then all attention was paid around fighters and were shown multiple versions of Top Gun IWC Big Pilot’s.

IWC Pilot’s Watch Double Chronograph Edition Le Petit Prince

In the mid-30s International Watch Co. Schaffhausen developed the construction of first wristwatch for pilots and thus firmly established the brand IWC among the brave and strong men – conquerors of airspace. These watches have quickly gained a reputation of accurate and precision instruments, demand for them grew very fast, and for nearly eight years, Schaffhausen has been producing its timepieces in different ways.

As part of the ongoing cooperation with the IWC factory heirs of Antoine de Saint-Exupery, IWC recently released a new watch: IWC Pilot’s Watch Double Chronograph Edition “Le Petit Prince”. These  watches is  in limited edition, there were only 1,000 copies, of course, it builds on the model IWC Pilot’s Watch Double Chronograph, but besides the obvious visual changes, it has a mechanical chronograph.

The history of IWC brand

IWC Schaffhausen. Trough the IWC workshop windows slowly flowing waters of the Rhine – the great river is getting ready to a few kilometers downstream reveal all its power and overthrow the roar and clatter from the rocky ledges the world-famous Rhine Falls. It was here more than 140 years ago, began the history of IWC, which continues to this day. 

At the age of 27 years, an American engineer and watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones was appointed to the post of deputy director and head of production in the company E. Howard Watch and Clock Co. in Boston, the leading American company for the production of watches on that times. While many people were looking for happiness in the West, Jones went in the opposite direction. He decided to move to the other side of the Atlantic – in Switzerland, where wages are still relatively low. Jones had planned to combine excellence of Swiss watchmakers, advanced engineering technology of the New World and its innovative spirit in order to set up production of high quality watches for the American market.

IWC Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month

Visually stunning and masculine, with a tounge-twister of a name, the sport-themed Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month (reference IW379201) also features a chronograph, and is the second most expensive new Ingenieur for 2013 – priced at $49,700. Featuring 120-meter water resistance and a fitted alligator strap, this luxury timepiece is the essence of forward-thinking, modern design.

This model contains the beautifully in-house made calibre 89802 automatic movement – a slight revision on the movement found in the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month. The base chronograph – with the chronograph hours and minutes both being totalized in the top subsidiary dial – is built upon with a perpetual calendar complication. There is a central chronograph seconds hand, and a lower sub dial is used for the running seconds. The chronograph has a flyback complication and the movement has a 68 hour power reserve. The movement for the perpetual calendar system digitally indicates the month and date, in the three additional windows that have been added to the dial for this purpose. There is a “big date” display and a “big month” display, as well as a leap year indicator in the lower sub dial, thanks to the two discs used in each of these three windows.

IWC welcomes New Brand Ambassador Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton

IWC welcomes new brand ambassador Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton from the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team. The Swiss brand became an official engineering partner to the team earlier this year. While the partnership has shared a special agreement since 2004, it was a venture between two companies with successful history of precision engineering and a shared commitment of pushing boundaries for high technology and mechanics.

The appointment of the brand and latest partnership just confirms the dedication to each other and continued quest for excellence. The brand commented on the appointment of the driver, saying that he works to push himself to top performance, get the most out of his car, and truly represents all that the brand hopes to inspire. Becoming friends with this driver is an honor and means we shall all continue our quest for perfection.

The face of the watch has been made larger by one millimeter. One millimeter is not a whole lot of space, but it does make a huge difference in the readability of the watch face. The colors inside the face play beautifully with the sun`s light, making the numerals very easy to see.

IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Racer will be launched at SIHH 2013

The luxury watch world has a lot of different names that enthusiasts respect and love, and among them IWC Schaffhausen is one of the best. IWC has a rich history of quality, and in recent years it has focused on improving some of its existing collections. The Pilot’s Watch collection was the focus for 2012, but according to most information it seems as though the Ingenieur Collection will be the company’s primary focus. This is the IWC line of sporty luxury watches, and first on its list is the newly redesigned IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Racer, expected to debut at SIHH 2013.
