Toward the end of the 1960s in Switzerland watch manufacturers were working to develop the world’s first automatic chronograph movement. Leading brands Breitling, Heuer-Leonidas, Dubois Depraz, Hamilton/Buren worked to develop a micro-rotor caliber, and in Japan, Seiko was working on its own automatic chronograph movement. Zenith, coupled wth partner Movado managed the development of an automatic chronograph movement, and showcased a working prototype in Geneva, naming it El Primero, meaning ‘the first’. A technological victory for the brand, and using a dry lubricant based on molybenum sulfate to deliver a high precision rate, and a power reserve of over 48 hours.
Rose gold is such a popular color from accent pieces to table runners, and jewelry, so it is no surprise that Zenith has crafted the new Chronomaster El Primero Open Gold Watch in rose gold. The brand has not wavered from their winning formula, the series with the tricolor dial, for over 50 years, until now, with the 18k rose gold case. However the brand is also not known for traditions even on this winning series. So stepping out with this latest timepiece shows how much of a risk the brand is willing to take.

Another interesting feature of the model - an unusual display of the date, which has become the subject of a patent. Elegant chronograph, tourbillon is available in two versions, the classic rose gold or stainless steel with black or white lacquer dial, as well as in the version in matt titanium slate gray dial in the spirit of the latest trends.
Power, exclusivity, sophistication. There are three new models of aircraft watches. Despite the innovative features - the face of a meteorite, body made of bronze or by its amazing lightness design - all three models continue the glorious traditions of the onboard instruments, the Manufacture created at the dawn of aviation.
In far 1865, in the town of Le Locle 22-year-old George Feb-Jacot founded a small workshop for making watches mechanism. Its main goal was to create the best value pocket watches. Starting very early to take advantage of automation, George led his American-style enterprise. And so he decided to bet on the production of watches using machines. Until 1911, the business of Georges Faivre-Jaco had no name, and only that year proliferating all over the enterprise acquired its name «Zenith SA». Since the beginning of the 1st World War «Zenith SA» are increasingly engaged in the watches manufacture.
In October 2012 for the first time ever a man broke the sound barrier outside a vehicle when he jumped from a balloon that was floating on the edge of outer space. That man, Felix Baumgartner, was the inspiration for Zenith in creating the Christophe Colomb Tribute watch. Wearing the El Primero Stratos Flyback during the jump, it paid homage to an amazing feat.
The most spectacular aspect of this watch is the self-regulating gyroscopic module. This is the first time for this type system to be used on a timepiece, and it basically holds the escapement in a horizontal position no matter which way the watch is placed. This might not seem critical, but it happens to bring perfection to this watch, allowing the balance wheel and the hairspring to remain horizontal consistently, which results in almost perfect regulation.
In honor of the Wright Brothers, the first to fly the sky, Zenith has created this limited edition Pilot Montre d’Aeronef Type 20 GMT 1903 Watch. The brand has been one of the few horological experts to create timepieces for aviation. The watches that are crafted for this field all share a few common aspects, like the prominent main crown, which is designed to allow for ease of use when you are wearing gloves, or the large dial that of course increases very easy readability, and of course one of the most important features, accuracy.
The brand has no problem meeting these obvious requirements and then sets the bar for other timepiece manufacturers with this latest design. Crafted from DLC coated titanium, the timepiece has almost a black hue. While the oversized piece might seem heavy the titanium case is lightweight and stronger than steel. The measurement on this case is 48 mm in diameter and 15.8 mm for the height. The large main crown is ridged for easy use with bare hands or gloves, and sitting at the 10 position in the middle is the inscription that details the individual limited edition number (xxxx/1903).
