Practical and Perfect

The Chopard Alpine Eagle Flying Tourbillon might seem a bit small for the 41mm wide timepiece, it is 8mm thick and is crafted from the special alloy metal that the brand refers to as Lucent Steel.  The metal polishes up a bit more white in the over all tone than the 316L steel, but is spectacular for this watch case.  It is a thin timepiece in comparison to other brand watches, but the side flanks make it look very trendy and provides a personality for the watch.  The bracelet is very Chopard, and makes it easy to identify as their watch, as there is no doubt the brand.  The case is water resistant to 100 meters, and the textured blue dial has been produced from a piece of gold, then is given a spiral texture that the brand refers to as “the iris of the eagle”.

The gold foundation is treated with a blue galvanic coating that brings the final color to life.  As a leisure timepiece it has the feel of comfort and relaxation before it ever goes on a wrist.  The dial is constructed of Roman Numeral hour indicators, an opening for the flying tourbillon window that sits at 6 o’clock making it clean and simple.  Swiss made beauty without a lot of fluff.  Chopard Alpine Eagle Flying Tourbillon Watch

A Flying Eagle

The Chopard Alpine Eagle Flying Tourbillon is not part of the brands L.U.C. product collection it is equipped with the movement produced by that group.  Visible through the sapphire crystal rear case, the movement is in-house and identified as the L.U.C. 96.24-L.  Designed with 189 parts and operating at a very uncommon 3.5Hz frequency, the watch has 65 hours of power reserve that is carefully placed between two stacked mainspring barrels.  This design is impressive because the movement is around 3.3mm-thick and fits like a glove.  The automatic movement features a 22k-gold micro rotor system and is comprised of traditional bridge architecture and hand-applied polishing and decoration.  The timepiece provides accuracy and meets the highest standards in every way.
