In 1904 Frederique Schreiner and Constant Stas partnered to create and produce printed watch dials for many of the Swiss watch manufacturers. A decade later the pair moved to combine their talents and launch their own high quality and innovative timepieces. In 1988 Frederique Constant established the luxury brand everyone loves with fourth generation descendants of the original founders leading the way. They crafted a collection of six models, all equipped with Swiss movements created by a Geneva watchmaker. The goal for these classic beauties was affordable luxury timepieces.
Marching To Their Own Beat
The first of the collection was the Heart Beat. The brand wanted to design a timepiece that would display the complex mechanical heart, so the feature is an aperture window set in the dial, allowing the complication to shine. Because the brand didn’t patent the design it was soon showing up across the industry. While many of the brand watches are produced in-house, there are also a number of the designs created elsewhere, but closely monitored through every stage of production. After the success of the Frederique Constant Heart Beat, the brand was focused on becoming their own master, from design to completion, making most if not all their own movements in their own facilities. While it took three years, in 2004 the brand released their own in-house movement.
Night & Day – Doing It Their Way
The brand growth continued and success of the manual winding piece led the way for the Moonphase and Date editions, followed by the automatic version that kept the momentum going. The sapphire crystal caseback windows allows the brilliant brand movement to be presented and displays the in-house movement for those watch lovers that key in on that element. Pricing is another key factor for Frederique Constant Classics. While considered a luxury brand, you can purchase these exquisite timepieces for superb value.
