Glashutte Original Pano Collection
The Glashutte Original Pano Collection has always been successful, but that didn’t mean it could not be made even better. The German watch maker proved that when the did a redesign on this collection and created new models that still reflect the same excellence in quality, but also showcase a new look and optimum performance.
When the Pano Collection arrived twelve years ago it presented a stunning chronograph, limited edition, with only 50 pieces crafted in platinum and it sold out immediately. Then in 2002 another model entered the arena, the PanoGraph, and while it incorporated many elements of the original design, it improved in many areas.
With the introduction of the newest Glashutte Original Pano Collection in 2012, the watch maker debuted a larger case, increasing to 40mm and 42mm, a much more expansive dial made possible by the thinner bezel, and removing the chapter rings that were on the previous models. The new models have incorporated a truly elegant and contemporary design, innovative enhancements and of course historical performance and precision.
The PanoGraph took advantage of the redesign, utilizing the larger case size and dial dimensions by moving the interlocking hour/minute and subsidiary seconds subdials over to the left, but leaving the date display at the 4 o’clock position since it is a Glashutte specialty. The timepiece is exquisite in a rose gold case, and can attach with a black or brown leather strap, both slightly wider than the previous designs.
Showcasing all the latest in the Glashutte Original Pano Collection, the PanoMaticChrono XL white gold watch is laid out with an off center hour and minute display, sub second and chronograph dials set on a silver galvanized dial set into a 42mm case and completed with a antique brown crocodile strap that is secured with a rose gold tang buckle. The watch also features an automatic Caliber 95 movement and a characteristic panoramic date display in addition to being water resistant up to 30M.
With so many fabulous creations in this Glashutte Pano Collection it is no surprise that selecting one might be difficult; however, the good news is that you can’t go wrong with any of the choices. The PanoDate, or PanoMatic Date timepiece features a stainless steel 39.4mm case, two tone silver dial, and a beautiful crocodile strap with double folding clasp. Review the collection, and selections that Glashutte has crafted, and allow yourself a most satisfying pleasure.
