Idalgo XT2 is the third piece created under the HD3 Complication brand, this piece is designed by Jorg Hysek himself. This exceptional watch marks the completion of the first Haute Horlogerie Trilogy as originally envisaged by the three founding designers of HD3 Complication. Idalgo perfectly reflects Jorg Hysek’s vision of modern Haute Horlogerie. Its originality of display is intriguing yet respectful of the culture inherent in today’s watchmakers’ world. Idalgo’s display gives the impression of having two movements, whereas in fact it has one – the very first developed by HD3 Complication – bringing HD3 to a turning point in its development and opening up new watch-making horizons.
HD3’s XT-II exclusive movement was completed after more than 2000 hours of development work by HD3 craftsmen. XT-II caliber is an HD3 development based on the parts of the ETA 2892 caliber (42 hours power-reserve, 28’800 oscillations per hour, 32 rubies). The face side has dual rotary oscillating displays framed by an over-sized golden case with fine regulator adjuster. The double-faced display reveals an innovative conceptualization : a jumping (or “flying”) hour aperture, 180 degrees retrograde 60 minutes hand, 360 degrees seconds hand, large date display and 2nd Time zone. The back of the case subtly reveals a minute section of the movement leaving you with an overall impression of refined modernism echoing IDALGO’s qualities of robustness, reliability and power – qualities also to be found in contemporary conceptualization of large-engine motor vehicles.
