Designing and developing a brand new Corum Ti-Bridge Automatic Dual Winder, the brand has surpassed another level in watch making manufacturing, and introduced the first automatic watch within the collection. Unveiling the latest addition to the Bridges collection, the brand has maintained alignment with their linear architecture, using the same escapement, gear train, and barrel while crafting the piece with the brand tonneau- shaped case.
The watch caliber is held in position by four titanium cross-bars, and is placed in a case that measures 42mm x 52mm, and one of the slimmest in the collection. The movement is truly a work of art, and is an extremely intricate piece of work.
Certainly the brand new Corum Ti-Bridge Automatic Dual Winder has allowed the delivery of a new manufacturing movement, brought about a patented revolutionary winding system, and resulted in the craftsmanship of a new titanium case. Reflecting the collection’s signature linear construction, the new design while remaining true to the fundamental principles of the brand have constructed this amazing inline winding system.
The construction of the system features oscillating weights, interconnected via a transmission arbor which in turn allows them to move in unison, regardless of the rotation direction. Sporting three integrated stacked mechanisms at 9 o’clock, a ball bearing device and two unidirectional ball bearing clutches the watch has efficient winding in both directions. Crafted from ceramic, the mechanisms need no lubricant in order to function.
Atop each of the oscillating weights are two steel disks, with two 1.32-gram tungsten semi-cylinders that ensure smooth winding. A single barrel that sits at 3 o’clock stores the caliber’s 72 hour power reserve. To further accentuate the vision of a suspended mechanism is the intrinsic transparency framed by the anthracite grey dial. The timepiece is crafted from grade 5 titanium; the only titanium alloy that can be polished.
The choice of a leather strap or grade 5 titanium bracelet is available, and it will also be offered in a 5N 18k red gold. The brand new Corum Ti-Bridge Automatic Dual Winder will be sold as a limited series with just 25 pieces.
