Freak Vision Ulysse Nardin Watch

If you are looking for a timepiece that is revolutionary, and introduced by a leading edge brand, then look seriously at the Ulysse Nardin Freak Vision Watch. A pioneer of innovation in timepieces, the brand has introduced some of the greatest strides in horological history. Taking some major points from the InnoVision 2, like a novel type of automatic winding system using all silicon parts, and the ability to offer winding of the mainstream with very small movements of the case. Unlike the traditional automatic winding system, an oscillating weight will travel across a wide arc to generate the needed winding power.

The sensitive movement that has been incorporated in this new timepiece winding system has created a new automatic system, more efficient and use than the traditional one. This new timepiece is the first automatic of the series that has ever been produced. So while other versions of the Freak have featured a power reserve up to a week, winding was not easy. The way the case was designed made it difficult. The case is designed to be water-resistant and are crafted with the top and rear bezels that rotate. The top sets the time, the rear winds the watch, and with this version winding is optional not mandatory.

Aesthetically the Ulysse Nardin Freak Vision Watch is quite different from all previous timepieces in the collection. The design is thinner than previous styles, but still 45mm wide and even on smaller wrists it is a great crown-less piece that wears exquisitely. The case is created in two materials, a very precise machined grade 5 titanium bezel and a solid platinum middle case. The timepiece is edgy, modern and very purposefully crafted for performance. Manufactured with a brilliance of combining traditional and modern, keeping quality and reliability at the top, the new timepiece is amazing.

You read the timepiece by looking at the rear disc hour hand, featuring a white arrow indicator, and a large minute hand that is housing the main gear train. This latest creation has the minute hand assembly taking the shape of a boat hull. Probably the most impressive elements of this timepiece is the viewing of the in-house design and production of the brand anchor constant escapement, the key to the regulation system. This system is inclusive of the balance wheel which is all-silicon, taking the melted pieces of nickel and utilizing them as ‘inertia-blocks’ on the oscillator. Ensuring a stable flow of energy to the movement, the constant force system inside the escapement keeps the mainspring winding down. This results in constant amplitude, which provides for constant accuracy in the timepiece. The Freak Vision has the in-house caliber UN-250, operates at a frequency of 2.5Hz and a power reserve of 50 hours.

The Ulysse Nardin Freak Vision Watch is produced as a limited edition collection and continues the innovative nature of the brand. Dedication to the future of timepieces, the brand does not disappoint, and will continue to lead us to the next generation, compelling designs and high end timepieces that keep you on time for everything important.
