Each of the Four Limited Editions of Van Cleef & Arpels Charms Extraordinaires is a sculpted masterpiece. The Féérie Dandelion watch showcases a butterfly-winged fairy, and a lucky dandelion. The fairy, showcased by a tiny white gold sculpture, a brilliant rose-cut diamond face and enameled wings, blowing on the dandelion’s feathers, making a wish come true. The feathers depicted by the intricately placed diamonds that appear to be floating in the wind.
If this were not impressive enough, the round case is made of white gold, 38mm and completed with a gorgeous pink leather strap. The champlevé enamel surface is decorated and coated with a blue lacquer, and is striking with the bluish sapphires laid along the middle row.
The Muguet watch also depicts a fairy, it is one of the brand’s main motifs. On this timepiece the fairy is sculpted with white mother-of-pearl and placed at the colorful mother of pearl surface that depicts a butterfly an sprigs of lily-of-the-valley. The third watch inside the collection, the Lotus, is artistry in motion, so feminine, so soft, a picturesque lotus flower in gentle pink laid perfectly in the center. The watch is created with a complex champlevé enamel technique, successive firings, and sanding, the enamel fills up cavities to create the 3-D effect of the lotus motif. The representation also conveys pure beauty, elegance, and perfection. This designer watch features two flowers to convey both, one on the enamel dial, and one on the lucky charm talisman. This watch is smaller than the other two, at 32mm, but not any less beautiful, set with diamonds, blue sapphires, and Paraíba tourmalines, completed with a baby pink leather strap.
Last but certainly not least in the collection is the Hirondelles watch. Following the belief that swallows bring good luck, and a symbol of spring, the motifs have been used by the brand since the 1920’s. Set on a vivid mother-of-pearl dial, the miniature painting of two birds, a symbol of tender love.
Like the other masterpieces within the collection, this watch is artistic and also a 32mm pink gold case. Featuring a delicate graduation of colors, the background shades from light blue, pink and mauve to dark blue swallows.
