A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Dresden Boutique 10th Anniversary Edition Watch

Located in Glashütte, A. Lange & Söhne headquarters received a breath of new life in 1994 and opened their first boutique in 2007 in Dresden located a short distance from the brand’s home base. Now celebrating the 10th anniversary they are launching a limited-edition watch in the 1815 collection. Crafted to be identical to the original standard, but designed with a hinged, engraved cover for a caseback.

This special timepiece is limited to ten each in pink gold and white gold. Such a beautiful creation, the classic dress watch starts with a 38.5mm case, and features a fairly traditional dial layout, showcasing sub-seconds dial at 6. The timepiece has a very understated elegance, but brings a visual attraction that draws one to the three-part construction of the case, the polished bezel, brushed case-band and polished back. Providing just the right balance of flash and finesse. The dial on the timepiece is solid silver capturing that same exquisite classic look, blued hands that serve a rich contrast, arabic numerals and now on this Dresden Boutique edition is the dust cover caseback, which is referred to as the cuvette. Taking inspiration from vintage pocket watches, the hinge is situated at the 12 end of the dial and beautifully engraved with a relief of the Dresden Frauenkirche, a very recognized landmark. The Frauenkirche is located adjacent to the boutique and really brings a foundation and history to this magical timepiece.

The heart of A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Dresden Boutique 10th Anniversary

edition watch is powered by the caliber L051.1, a time-only movement featuring a Nivarox balance spring, hand winding, swan-neck regulator, adorned with German silver main plate and bridges coupled with a 55 hour power reserve. Now as you would expect the brand movement is finished to the highest standard and all decoration is hand crafted, with the balance cock engraved, signature gold chatons secured by blued screws and the Geneva striped three quarter plate.

While the hinged cuvette is not revolutionary, it is fitting that it commemorates this special moment in the brand history. The final touch of the watch is a lovely alligator strap with a pin buckle. The brand preserves the true meaning of classic elegance and continues to build a foundation for the future of magical timepieces.
