A. Lange & Sohne Langematik Perpetual Limited-Edition Blue Watches

Perpetual Growth

Marking an anniversary for the artisanal handwerkskunst series released by A. Lange & Sohne, we recognize the beauty and brilliance of the Langematik Perpetual Limited Edition Blue Watches, launched 20 years ago.  The very first self-winding perpetual calendar watch continues to grow and evolve with every aspect.  Both timepieces are limited to 50 pieces, and are showcased in 18k white gold and 18k rose gold with a elegant 38.5mm case, and enhanced with the rich blue dials that capture all the elements the brand is famous for.

Silver Excellence

Both of these exquisite models have the solid silver and embossed dials, a blue that is embellished with the Roman hour numerals made with rhodiumed white gold or rose gold to match the case.  The precious metals used for the case, hands, buckle and lunar disk reflect only the highest quality and dedication to excellence that A. Lange & Sohne bring to their timepieces.  The dial design is meticulous in bringing such a complex combination to the display in this legible manner.  The large date is displayed prominently at the top of the dial, with the subdial sitting on the left to reflect the day of the week and a 24-hour day-night scale.  The right subdial is home to the month and overlaps a slightly smaller subdial with the leap-year cycle along with the moon-phase aperture.  That moon phase indication is remarkable requiring a correction only every 122.6 years, and the calendar date if the movement is perpetually wound does not need manual correction until the year 2100.  This is quality.

Heart and Soul

The heart of these Langematik Perpetual Limited-Edition Blue Watches is the in-house movement that is carefully located behind the caseback’s sapphire window, the self winding L922.1 Sax-o-Mat.  Talk about amazing, this A. Lange & Sohne bidirectionally winding micro rotor is constructed of 21k gold including a platinum centrifugal mass and is recessed into the three-quarter mainplate.  This clever design allows for the view of two signature elements, the traditional Saxon hand-engraved balance cock, and the whiplash precision index adjuster.  The brand has developed the movement so that it is equipped with a zero-reset mechanism that stops the balance, and instantly sends the seconds hand back to zero when the crown is pulled.  Facilitating and speeding up the setting and resetting process, this development by the brand is significant in not only excellence but evolving timepieces for the future.  All 478 parts are assembled and decorated to the high standards for Lange and so slim in order to enable the cases to house all in the 10.2mm space.  Each of the timepieces feature dark blue alligator leather straps, and complement the watches on every view.
