Harry Winston Unveils Limited Edition Project Z14 Watch

Sporting Luxury

Harry Winston unveils the Limited-Edition Project Z14 Watch which further enhances the luxury-sports timepiece to feature a retrograde-seconds.  The watch is a very eye-catching timepiece, with a futuristic design that is elegantly sculpted and incorporates that multi-layer dial with the brand signature shade of blue.  Named for the Zalium, zirconium-aluminum alloy the watch is strong, yet lightweight and obviously resistant to corrosion.  Really setting this watch apart from the previous versions is the enhanced depth and structure design, the chamfered bezel that replaced the flat and smooth predecessor, adding more angles and facets to the case that was already a architectural creation. Sporting a 42.2mm diameter case, and 10.7mm tall provides that perfect mix of luxury and sport.

Statement DesignZ

Harry Winston has always provided collections that were spectacular, but the sports offerings were more limited, but this new Project Z collection has opened a new door.  This latest limited-edition Project Z14 pushes that new trend with a refreshing skeleton design, an oversized retrograde seconds display, and of course the proprietary alloy that the brand has that is exclusive to them.  That alloy not only provides a lightweight material, but also one that offers more scratch resistance than titanium and durability that lasts.  A statement for this collection is the crown guard and is like the one element that signifies this design.

Open Beauty

While there is a lot to see on this Harry Winston Limited Edition Project Z14 Watch, the beauty of the open-worked dial provides a wealth of details.  The intricate design work is meticulous, from the grid-motif sub-dial, to the Cotes De Geneve on the base plate, each aspect is exquisite. When you look at each detail you also realize the metallic monochromatic crafting is enhanced by the blue accents on the time display and seconds, expertly breaking it up to add an understated elegance.  The watch is finished with a fabric-covered rubber strap that features that racing stripe to give a subtle complement to the dial.  The HW2022 movement drives this beauty and this version has been refined to have a simpler visual design.  The 30-second retrograde display means it jumps back to zero twice a minute, a first for the collection.  Along the intricate skeleton dial has a mix of polished and black surfaces coupled with an angular and high-tech look that has cleaner edges and a more sculpted outer ring.  The tall faceted applied indices sit along the new cross shaped skeleton pattern, and the signature Harry Winston emerald cut shape sitting at 12 o’clock in the recognizable signature blue.  The dial certainly places a distinct priority on the use of color.  The watch has flair and with a 65 hour power reserve has dynamic to match.  Beating at 28,800 bph you know you have power that withstands your lifestyle.  A timepiece worth a second look, it is a move in the right direction for Harry Winston.
