A timekeeping masterpiece, the HYT H2 Watch is a concept of brilliance, combining high-end watch manufacturing with fluid mechanics. Born from a shared vision, the watch was inspired by the hydro mechanical horologists and the team of Audemars Piguet Renaud Et Papi, guided by Giulio Papi.
Truly pushing the limits of watch making as it is known, the integration of fluidics into mechanical watch making has called for the architecture of this hybrid creation to be completely redesigned. Enclosing the bellows, the system of feelers, cams and pistons, each piece has to be integrated to coexist with each other, not just on an aesthetic level, but key components that deliver a new concept.
Taking a look at the craftsmanship behind this marvel, the watch position of the bellows, sitting at 6 o’clock in ‘V’ and rising, gives way to an excellence in automotive and aeronautical engineering. This positioning allows for optimization of the integration for the watch mechanisms and the fluidic system. The two bellows are made from a very strong and supple electro-deposited alloy and moved easily by a piston.
As the first is compressed, the second extends, back and forth, pushing the movement of the fluids that are residing in the capillary. The separation between the fluids, displays the time, and as it reaches the 6 o’clock evening mark, the fluorescent liquid returns to the original position.
The balance spring mirrors the pair of bellows, and presides on a black bridge, the dome making a mark for the breath it brings. Placed at 3 o’clock, a H-N-R crown position indicator is counterbalanced by another hand, an original and exclusive to HYT, a temperature indicator. When the timepiece is worn, this function allows the user to accurately determine when the fluid has reached the optimum temperature range.
Directly placed in the center of the HYT H2 Liquid Cool Wrist Engine watch is a minute hand, designed and developed in stages to be an exact fit for the fluidic system, jumping after thirty minutes to avoid the bellows. The timepiece is constructed with a black DLC titanium case, 48.8mm in diameter and 17.9mm thick, coupled with a domed sapphire crystal.
The H2 fluidic display is characteristic of the inspiration, the architecture transparent, and the completely visible movement allowed to accentuate the three-dimensional depth, absolutely characteristic of the brand. Looking at the performance of the timepiece, the double barrel, visible through the back, provides an 8 day power reserve and the force needed to achieve this mechanical marvel.
The brilliant design that allows for the visibility of the barrel springs, makes way for the power reserve display, both innovative and showcased via the open worked barrels. This is more than just a watch, it is a combination of technological brilliance and excitement. This watch allows for a step into the future, a definition of character, something for anyone who loves leading edge, and a must have for a timepiece collector who appreciates quality and reliability.
