Go Green
Luxury watchmaking has embraced the color green over the last few years and it appears that trend is going to continue. Jaeger-LeCoultre has debuted the Polaris Date Watch in Green, a beautiful and exquisite timepiece, offered in a smoky olive color. The color palette has been intricate in showing off the brand’s very intense finishing techniques, and this latest watch is very masculine, very edgy, and takes the lead for the sports watch series the brand offers. A very elegant and attractive piece this watch is a winner.
Beauty Is a Beast
The 42mm wide and 13.92mm thick watch like previous versions of the Polaris Date is comfortable and stylish. The new Jaeger LeCoultre in green sports the stainless steel case that has a nearly all dial look. Featuring a classic interpretation of the Polaris twin-crown super compressor-style design, and designed with a slim rounded polished bezel, complimented with a tightly wrapped and horizontally brushed case sides this watch is quite a stunner. The lugs accentuate the watch, and the twin-gear toothed crowns that sit at 2 and 4 o’clock bring a true character to the timepiece and set it apart from other single-crown, external bezel dive watches. Rugged and wild, this Poliaris Date is 200 meters of water resistance and ready for anything.
Dial Green
The debut of the Jaeger Lecoultre Polaris Date Watch In Green is really spectacular with the dial treatment. While many watches feature a olive green dial, this one has taken a base green lacquer and crafted a deep, olive with a golden yellow undertone, not the military olive that most try to design. The dial on this design is created with a dynamic sunburst finish, then topped with a glossy surface and then the effect transitions from green to an almost pure black, very unique. The dial is bordered with a recessed seconds track, featuring light azurage, really providing a sense of visual depth and resetting the progress of the fume effect that goes across the dial. The outer dial has more of a grainier effect, a similar fume pattern moving into the central dial. The timepiece features no less than four distinct dial segments and that unique spectacle of two concentric fume rings around the dial. The dial layout is shared with the skeletonized baton handset, the elongated applied indices and rather square Arabic numerals. Really a nice color combo across the watch dial, complimenting the entire design.
Movement To The End
Jaeger LeCoultre powers this Polaris Date in green with its own in-house 899AB automatic movement. One of the newer in the brand’s line, it provides modern performance and features a 70 hour power reserve. The watch is completed with a dial matched olive green rubber strap that has more of a hobnail texture. Very modern leading edge styling, this timepiece is masculine, dramatic, and sporty. A great addition to the watchmaking line for the brand.
