Panerai Luminor Submersible Slytech PAM225 Tritium Dial was manufactured as a limited edition series with only 300 produced. Prior productions of this family were also produced in limited edition quantities. The style was crafted as a black-faced Luminor Marina with customized wording on the dial. Of course the name Slytech came from the fact Stallone’s signature was on the back, and the first pieces were crafted for him to wear in the movie Daylight.
The Pre-Vendome timepieces are in high demand by collectors and the watches can sell in upwards of $70,000. This new piece, while still produced in a limited quantity, is more affordable, but still manufactured with quality and reliability. The brand certainly became recognized by the prominence of the time piece when it hit the big screen.
The brand was commissioned by Stallone to design a special edition timepiece for him to wear in the movie. Panerai Luminor Submersible Slytech PAM225 sets itself apart from its predecessors first because it is constructed from titanium, making it lighter than the others, and also it has a slightly cleaner look because there is no date indication as was on the PAM187. Another distinguishing feature is the bezel is thinner, allowing for a wider diameter dial, showcasing pegs instead of the welded white gold minute indicators on the previous model.
When the Panerai Luminor Submersible Slytech PAM225 watch was in the creation stages the first 12 samples were actually made with a white dial and blue words, but Stallone preferred black words and returned them to the brand. The later models then were constructed with all black. The brand was originally recognized for manufacturing a top diving watch, utilizing a Rolex case and the advanced water-proof technology.
The self-winding mechanical movement features a power reserve of 68 hours, and the case if water resistant up to 30 meters. Amazingly the timepiece can provide such magnificent beauty and only measure 41mm x 13.7 mm. The double sapphire crystals add immense character to the watch, while the 18k rose gold is attractive, the white gold version sports 272 diamonds that are breathtaking. To complete the versions, the strap can be a choice of exquisite rolled-edge brown alligator, that closed with a 18k rose gold buckle, or a sultry gray satin with a white gold buckle, adorned with 24 diamonds.
