No Time to Die
A new movie, and a new Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond Edition watch. No Time to Die is anticipated as it sweeps the media with excitement and intrigue. The new timepiece the super spy will adorn his wrist with is also hyped with speculation because the watch and the man go wrist in wrist. Looking back on the history of the brand, every Bond film shares that history. This new watch is designed with a familiar red, black and brown color hue, very much like other Seamasters and yet with some major differences, for one it is not a limited edition. The vintage look of this design timepiece was inspired by the predecessor Diver 300M an original from 1993. Having a presence on the wrist of the spy for decades, it is important for the brand to continue the sophisticated details and character that this influential man has had on the timepieces. After all, the man makes the watch, or the watch can make the man.
Spy This
This latest spy catching timepiece is crafted with a 42mm titanium case, the brown aluminum bezel ring that cleverly matches the dial, and has the crown guards on the side the provide the protection for the screw-down crown, and a clever helium release valve sitting at the 10 o’clock position. The dial has some detailing that makes the watch very exquisite. The outer minute ring is adorned with applied circular and rectangular accent markers for each hour, and toward the top is the recognizable Omega logo, with red-line script ‘Seamaster’ just below it. At the bottom of the dial face you have the arrow marker at 6 o’clock which dates back to the first Bond movie, Dr. No, and the two large hands that sit for hour and minute. The inner details of the timepiece move like the spy himself, powerful and precise. The Caliber Omega 8806 automatic movement is the heart of the beast, and uses the co-axial escapement as the other brand timepieces.
No Limits
The Omega Seamaster James Bond is certified as a Master Chronometer is approved by METAS and resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15000 gauss. The 55 hour power reserve is also protected by the solid caseback which of course is engraved with the 007 marking and tradition for the brand. As the year 2020 marks the 25th anniversary of the brand and the films partnership, it was no surprise the brand asked Daniel Craig for input. While the character has been around for many years, the more modern Bond has to keep up appearances. So while Omega is the watch of choice, one still expects style, and elegance from the hero. While the new model is not produced in a limited edition series, it does have privilege, and will be featured with a NATO style polyester strap or a Milanese bracelet for slightly more. So while there are no limits you will want to get one while you can.
