Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph

Classy Casual

Patek Philippe is stepping up to attract younger clients, and working to deliver a classy yet casual style. The new Aquanaut Chronograph captures time/date, travel time and a self-winding chronograph, but embraces the casual bright attention with the orange accents and orange rubber strap. The 5980 Nautilus caliber is used for the timepiece and provides a central seconds with the 60 minute counter at six o’clock.

Strapping Stability

The Patek watch was designed with a striking orange rubber strap, crafted with a composite rubber that is resistant to saltwater, wear and tear, as well as UV rays, coupled with a new double folding clasp which makes it extremely comfortable on the wrist. The strap features four independent catches, two side buttons and of course the patented design insures reliability and confidence.   Overall the strap is attached by two spring bars and can be trimmed to fit the wrist of the owner, making it very attractive. There is also a black strap included for those who might want to be a little less spectacular. The Patek Philippe watch has added stability provided to the strap ends, because they are not only secured with the spring bars, but also two pins that lead from the strap ends to the body of the case. The bright orange strap is very colorful and really accents the marks of the chronograph functions on the dial, so be adventurous, live life in color.

Face Time

The Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph features a long slender chronograph hand that is extended from the center of the dial, allowing the minutes hand over the subdial sitting at 6 o’clock, and the markings of the 4 Hz chronograph track around the dial at the same time the elapsed minutes track around the subdial. Adapting the same shape as the rounded octagon of the bezel the timepiece has a playfulness as light catches the dial’s sunburst finish and changes the color from a first look deep black to a light gray appearance at second glance. The Arabic numerals, 12 markers, and the two baton-shaped hands that were crafted for the hour and minutes were designed in white gold and coated in luminescent making readability high. While the orange brass hands on the chronograph are painted they have no lume, but they point exactly to the chronograph scales sitting on the dial.

So So Much

There is so much to say about this spectacular Patek watch that you simply can’t put it all in words. The patented material is created from a monocrystalline form of silicon, which not only is temperature-compensating, but also lightweight, anti-magnetic, hard and wear resistant, elastic, and also resistant to impacts and corrosion. The production uses the DRIE, Deep Reaction Ion Etching process with a precision of 1/1,000th of a millimeter. The watch mechanism sits in a stainless steel case which has both polished and brushed finishes. The Aquanaut Chronograph from Patek Philippe is a watch that fits perfect on the wrist, designed with downward sloping lugs and a rubber strap that joins the watch securely, and a crown that is solid and exquisite. Every detail is just excellent. You have to know the self-winding Caliber CH 28-520 C provides accuracy, and combines a classic column wheel with a modern vertical-disk clutch control. This design stands out because of the smooth movement and permanent sweet seconds hand. The date on this timepiece advances at midnight within a fraction of a second, it is so fast the human eye cannot register it. The Patek Philippe watch has so many features that make it outstanding, the right push for the future, the right direction for the brand.
