Vacheron Constantin Metiers d´Art Mozart Watch
If you are a collector of fine watches, you should know all about Vacheron Constantin, the world´s oldest manufacturer of fine watches. Since its formation in 1755, the company has produced some of the best watches in every era. It has evolved over the years and has contributed immensely to new innovations and technologies in the watch industry. The company launched its first compilation of watches in 1770. In 2007, Vacheron Constantin became a patron of the Paris National Opera, and announced the release of 15 special watches as part of its Metiers d´Art collection. The first watch was inspired from the mural painting created by French artist Marc Chagall on the ceiling of Paris´s Palais Garnier Opera House. The Vacheron Constantin Metiers d´Art Mozart watch is the third timepiece in the series, and is an homage to famous composer W.A. Mozart.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is often considered the greatest composer of the Classical Era. The Austrian composer, keyboard composer, violinist, violist and conductor, was a child prodigy who composed his first song when he was only five years old. By the time of his death at the age of 35 years, he had written and composed more than 600 symphonies, operas, quartets and sonatas. The “Hommage to W.A. Mozart” watch was unveiled by Vacheron Constantin at an elegant luncheon in New York City. The Vacheron Constantin Metiers d´Art Mozart watch is also inspired from another section of the Chagall mural at the Opera House.
The grand feu teeth enamel on the dial of Vacheron Constantin Metiers d´Art Mozart watch consists of a yellow-and-red figure on a blue background. The dancing figure represents Mozart´s famous composition “The Magic Flute.” The watch is encased in a 40-mm yellow-gold case. It has also been stamped with Geneva Hallmark, and contains Vacheron´s manufacture Caliber 2460 SOUTH CAROLINA along with 27 jewels. Automatic movement and a 40-hour power reserve also add to the quality of the watch. The black strap is made from Mississippi alligator leather and has a semi-matte finish. A polished gold pin buckle in the shape of Vacheron Constantin´s Maltese cross logo further enhance the value of the watch.
The Vacheron Constantin Metiers d´Art Mozart watch is not for sale at this moment. It is part of Vacheron Constantin´s Heritage Collection. The subsequent watches will pay tribute to other great composers such as Wagner, Berlioz, Rameau, Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky, Verdi, Beethoven, Adam, Mussorgsky, Gluck and Bizet.
