A well respected watch brand, Vacheron Constantin has brought us two new versions of a masterful timepiece, The Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, new White-Gold styles. The refined and exquisite timepieces carry the technical specifications, and heart of the skeletonized model, as well as the blue lacquered dial and ultra thin case, it is the white gold case that truly sets this beauty apart. The true genius from the brand is also the patented interchangeable strap device and featuring the white gold bracelet and two other options for versatility and elegance.
Evolution In Excellence
The Overseas collection is a true evolution of excellence by Vacheron, and built on the foundation of the 222 from 1977. Designed originally by Jorg Hysek and aligning with the brand’s 222nd anniversary, the 222 offered a luxury sport watch. As the timepiece was revamped in 2016, this is now the third rebirth and evolution of a flagship timepiece. This latest design in white gold is stunning and certainly an example of the watch making brilliance the brand has developed. This Overseas release features the polished hexagonal bezel, contrasted by the brushed case and bracelet, framing the truly astonishing skeletonized dial and perpetual calendar functions. While the pink gold was beautiful, this white gold really amplifies the display in the blue, and has created a wow timepiece that is eye catching and exquisite. A blue ring sitting at high noon indicates the months, and days of the week sit at the 9 o’clock position, balancing the date at 3 o’clock, allowing the yellow gold moon phases to take their place at the 6 o’clock position. Placed so perfectly are the white gold hands and hour markers treated with the luminescent material.
Movement Works
While Vacheron Constantin is a master at skeletonizing movement, it is still a complex art and requires skills that few watchmakers have when you are looking at the ultra-thin perpetual calendar movement that is only 4.05mm tall and features 275 components. The Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin components of calibre 1120 QPSQ/1 are hollowed out and decorated with Haute Horlogerie flourishes. The delicate and meticulous finishings are breathtaking, and surfaces are decorated with satin-brushed finishes, along with the straight lines and curves that are bevelled to catch the light. If these details are not enough to amaze you, there is also circular brushing, sunburst finishing, circular graining and polishing on this beauty. The brands Maltese cross logo is outlined in the open worked NAC coated oscillating weight.
Patented Perfection
The Vacheron Constantin offering of The Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin in Two New White-Gold Styles is truly complimented by the different tonalities of blues that really make the white gold crisp and sportier. From a translucent blue to brighter shades of blue to the soft baby blue inside the calendar counters, each shade a perfect fit. Finishing off the stunner is the patented strap-changing system that helps the luxurious white gold bracelet adorn the bezel, or you can change to the blue allligator leather accented with blue stitching or the blue rubber with white gold folding buckle.
